What an affiliate link is
Some guides include a booking link for hotels or flights. These links go through Travelpayouts, an affiliate network, to Trip.com. If you book after following one, Panglao.ph may receive a commission from the provider. You pay the same price either way.
Every affiliate link is labeled where it appears, and a guide that contains one says so near the top of the page.
What does not change
- Places, areas and operators are chosen for how well they fit a reader’s trip, based on the sources each guide cites, not on commission.
- Links to hotels’, restaurants’ and operators’ own websites are not affiliate links.
- No business pays to appear in a guide, and guides do not rank places without saying how they were compared.
- Affiliate links are marked for search engines as sponsored, so they do not pass ranking credit.
Your choice
You never need an affiliate link to use a guide. You can book directly with a hotel or airline, compare other sites or book locally. Prices, availability and cancellation terms can change after a guide is published; the provider’s checkout page is the one that counts, so read it before paying.
